FPAA sets agenda for Spring Policy Summit
Canceled last year because of the government shutdown, the Fresh Produce Association of the America’s Spring Policy Summit is back for 2020.
The event is March 24 in Tubac, Ariz., according to a news release.
“First and foremost on everyone’s mind today is the USMCA, and we are bringing in experts from Washington, D.C., to talk about the changes,” Lance Jungmeyer, president of the FPAA, said in the release. “But there are many other issues on the table, from how to handle increased tomato inspections to the potential for 100% scans of commercial cargo by Customs.
“The border is ever-changing, and we have to keep importers up with new developments,” Jungmeyer said in the release.
Topics of sessions at the event include USMCA and other trade issues, farm labor, tomato inspections required under the new suspension agreement, food safety and other topics.
More details about the FPAA Spring Policy Summit are on the group’s website.
