FPAA to honor Rosie Favela Cornelius at convention

The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas has chosen Rosie Favela Cornelius as its next Pillar of the FPAA award recipient.

Cornelius, who will be honored at the association’s 50th anniversary Fall Produce Convention Nov. 1-3 in Tubac, Arizona, has been involved in developing and coordinating the event for four decades, according to a news release. She will receive the award Nov. 2 at the association’s gala dinner.

“Not only is she a pioneer for women working to make their mark on the business, but she’s also responsible for the success of so many conventions past,” FPAA President Lance Jungmeyer said in the release.

The award recognizes those who demonstrate the values of the FPAA and have dedicated themselves to the produce industry and community, according to the release.

“It used to be more of a networking event.” Cornelius said in the release. “It’s transformed into more of a celebration and promotional event for the industry.”

Cornelius is also scheduled to speak during the convention’s Women’s Leadership Invitational Nov. 2.
