Allison Moore has been promoted to vice president at the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas, Nogales, Ariz.

Moore, who was director of legislative and regulatory affairs, started at the association in 2001 as communications director. In the new role, she will work closely with FPAA President Lance Jungmeyer and other leadership on day-to-day operations and governmental issues, according to a news release.

“Allison continues to prove her value to the FPAA,” Jungmeyer said in the release.

“As an example, Allison’s experience in recognizing and solving everyday border crises such as system delays with Customs or FDA makes her extremely important to the industry,” he said in the release. “Paying attention to the nuts and bolts of border crossings helps keep companies operating efficiently.”

Food safety, transportation hours of service issues and quality inspections are some of the areas Moore has been active in recently. She’s  also active on the United Fresh Produce Association’s Food Safety & Technology Council, Greater Nogales Santa Cruz County Port Authority, the Arizona-Mexico Commission and the Nogales Economic Development Foundation, according to the release.

“How can you beat working with and learning from so many people on issues ranging from local infrastructure projects to food safety to international trade?” Moore said in the release.  “Solving problems and helping people are really the foundations of my job, and I love that.”
