Produce Mom to lead panel at FPAA convention
Lori Taylor — aka The Produce Mom — will be a headliner at the Nov. 2-4 49th Annual Nogales Fresh Produce Convention and Golf Tournament.
Taylor will lead an educational session Nov. 2 looking at consumer wants and needs in the produce department, according to a news release.
Through her website, theproducemom.com, Taylor surveyed her audience to discover what consumers look for in fruits and vegetables, according to the release. Taylor also asked consumers what their views about fresh produce from coming in from Mexico.
“We take great pride in educating consumers about the universal quality and safety of produce that is sold in the United States,” Taylor, whose business is now known as The Produce Moms, said in the release. “FPAA has empowered the Produce Moms with facts and knowledge to better educate households about Mexican grown fruits and vegetables.”
Taylor said she looks forward to sharing insights about efforts by the Produce Moms to increase consumer confidence and knowledge in fresh produce grown in Mexico.
The convention also will feature a panel of industry professionals to discuss the North American Free Trade Agreement, according to the release. Panelists for that session include Walter Ram of Giumarra Cos., Martin Ley of Fresh Evolution, and Javier Badillo of Fresh International.
