United Fresh awards Food Freshness Card for 3rd consecutive year

The Food Freshness Card was voted Best New Food Safety Solution at the 2019 United Fresh Produce Association expo and conference, the third consecutive year it has won the award.

The Food Freshness Card naturally extends the shelf life of fruits, vegetables and breads up to 50% longer to combat food waste, according to a news release.

The card works inside or outside refrigerators to reduce waste in home kitchens, restaurants and supermarkets. The Food Freshness Card has won 10 awards around the world. It reduces waste, saving up to $5,000 per month in supermarkets, according to the release.

“It is truly a win-win for supermarkets and their customers and employees,” Rick Hassler, one of the Food Freshness Card inventors, said in the release. “By utilizing the Food Freshness Card in the store, chains can instantly reduce waste and save money.”
