Bee Sweet Citrus prepares for summer imports

Bee Sweet Citrus, Fowler, Calif., is winding down its domestic citrus season, and preparing for the summer import season.

From June to October, the company imports navels, cara caras, lemons and clementines, overseeing import clearance, logistics and inventory, with weekly market analysis, according to a news release.

"Over the last 15 years, we've been working closely with our Chilean partners to ensure that we can implement a successful, no-gap transition of citrus to our consumers; and we're excited to kick-off another great season,” Joe Berberian, Bee Sweet Citrus sales representative, said in the release.

Imported citrus is re-graded at Bee Sweet’s facility, and customers can request custom re-packs, sales representative Jason Sadoian said in the release.

The Chilean fruit is grown on ranches that are PrimusGFS and Good Agricultural Practices certified, according to the release, and Bee Sweet’s food safety and production teams verify it’s been audited for food safety and sustainability metrics.
