Charismatic. Humble. Contagious personality. That sums up Alex Miller, a Kentucky youth who grew up on a farm. The 17-year old was in the national spotlight earlier this year as he stole the show during “American Idol.”
Miller isn’t just humble. He credits FFA for a strong foundation and leadership skills which help him shine on stage. At the time of “American Idol,” Miller was a high school senior and proud member of FFA.

Miller recently took part in a recent Farm Journal #FarmON concert in Colby, Kan., and his electric performance will also be part of the #FarmON benefit concert in partnership with National FFA Foundation. The concert is to raise money for the National FFA Foundation, which helps support FFA members go further and do more not only in school, but in life. And Miller says he’s a living example of what FFA does for youth.
“I owe a lot of my personality and my outgoingness to FFA,” Miller says.
The recent high school graduate received his various FFA degrees, but he also served as FFA regional sentinel. And it’s the foundation of FFA that continued to build his confidence, a positive attribute that shows on stage. And as a artist who enjoys performing traditional country music songs from artists like Merle Haggard, he can also be described as an “old soul.”
“I’ve been wanting to go out and sing since I was a little boy, and the fact I’m getting to go out and do it is something unbelievable,” Miller says.
As Miller talks about his career, it’s easy to see why country music star Luke Bryan latched on to Miller, even inviting Miller to sing alongside him at the Grand Ole Opry.

Join Miller, along with another FFA alum, Easton Corbin, as they bring the energy and entertainment on Monday, Sept. 20. The #FarmON Benefit concert kicks off at 7 p.m. Central. Throughout the event, Farm Journal will raise money for the National FFA Foundation and pay tribute to an organization that continues to support the future of agriculture.
