The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has released draft guidance to help growers determine set their food safety plans.
The guidance provides direction on whether alternative produce safety courses can meet certain training requirements of the Produce Safety Rule mandated by the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, according to a news release.
“Through questions and answers, this draft guidance will help farmers and educators understand FDA’s current thinking on factors that should be considered when either selecting or developing an alternate training curriculum from the one developed by the Produce Safety Alliance,” according to the release.
