Produce Packaging Inc., Cleveland, Ohio - On Nov. 20, 2019 Produce Packaging, Inc., operating out of Cleveland, Ohio, posted a $100,000 surety bond with the USDA to employ Andrew Weingart, as required by the PACA. In September 2018 the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) found that Forest City Weingart Produce Co., Cleveland, Ohio, committed repeated and flagrant violations of the PACA. Andrew Weingart was the president and a stockholder of the company during the violation period.

Sandifer Farms LLC, Blackville, South Carolina - On Nov. 20, 2019 the USDA determined that Michael C. Harris was not responsibly connected to Sandifer Farms LLC, Blackville, S.C. This is an update to Press Release No: 131-19 issued on Oct. 15, 2019. Sandifer Farms LLC violated the PACA by failing to pay a reparation award totaling $172,156 in favor of a Florida seller. USDA made an initial determination that Michael C. Harris was responsibly connected to Sandifer Farms LLC, and subject to sanction. Michael C. Harris contested this initial determination and USDA has now determined that Michael C. Harris was not responsibly connected to Sandifer Farms LLC at the time of the violation. As a result, Michael C. Harris may be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee.
