BERLIN — Seeking to “empower the business of fresh at every step,” post-harvest technologies provider AgroFresh Solutions Inc. shared new messaging, a brand refresh and the latest since its September 2023 acquisition of South Africa-based packaging solutions provider Tessara at Fruit Logistica, Feb. 7-9.

The company’s mission is to help customers produce abundant, sustainable, quality fresh produce for all, AgroFresh Global Marketing Director Amy Tranzillo and Commercial Director Narciso Vivot told The Packer in Berlin. This mission follows the company’s expansion of solutions, which now include sulfur dioxide-intelligent packaging technology for table grapes, berries and flowers.

As produce moves through different stages of the supply chain, “we want to ensure that the same quality of blueberry picked by the grower ends up on the other side of the world in exactly the same condition,” Tranzillo said.

AgroFresh says it’s looking at the quality and ripening challenges its fresh produce customers encounter across the supply chain to deliver answers in a comprehensive and innovative portfolio of near- and post-harvest solutions.

Further supporting AgroFresh as it builds upon its growth strategy and focuses on meeting its customers’ needs, is the company’s strategic positioning around the globe.

“We’re in all the key fruit growing regions around the globe,” Narciso said. “Customers ask us, ‘do you have people there?’ We can say, ‘yes, we have people there.’ It’s a very important part of our relationship with growers.”

From industry events to the fields and orchards, AgroFresh is dedicated to engaging with customers and their businesses to provide answers on how to deliver quality and freshness solutions across the supply chain, the company says.

AgroFresh says it acquired Tessara, a provider of intelligent packaging solutions for preserving fresh produce, to expand capabilities and focus on the future. As employees from both businesses unify around a single purpose and a core set of competencies, AgroFresh says it is well positioned to empower customers for success in business.

“We are investing in customers’ success by providing science-based, data-driven solutions across the food supply chain that reduce food loss and waste, help preserve the planet’s resources and enhance the quality and shelf-life of fresh produce,” Duncan Aust, chief technology officer at AgroFresh, said in a news release. “Our commitment comes from 40 years of delivering innovative products, services and digital solutions to better protect and preserve the planet through prolonged produce freshness, reduced food waste and significantly less food loss. Sustainability and innovation are at the core of what we do in service to our customers.”
