Chelan Fresh expects to peak on rainier cherries July 1, with dark sweet cherries peaking around July 14, said Mac Riggan, director of marketing for the Chelan, Wash.-based company.

With peak fruit sizing at 10 row, harvest timing is about five days later than 2020, Riggan said.

The company expects its season to run through Aug. 15.

Chelan Fresh will again market the Orondo Ruby, an exclusive variety.

Riggan said the export outlook for cherries is strong, providing shippers can secure enough ocean containers.
