FFVA cancels annual convention in September

The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, Maitland, has cancelled its 2020 convention because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, Maitland, has cancelled its 2020 convention because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The FFVA’s annual event was scheduled for Sept. 28-30 in Naples. The next convention will be Sept. 13-15 in Naples, according to a news release.

The association will have a board meeting to accomplish its annual business, which includes:

  • Executive committee meeting
  • Meeting of the 2019-20 board
  • Annual membership meeting; and
  • Meeting of the 2020-21 board.

The meetings will follow the usual format and are scheduled for their original dates, Sept. 28-29, according to the release. The location will be announced later.

Regional meetings will be scheduled in the fall to keep FFVA members up-to-date on issues and solicit feedback. The meetings will be at University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Science’s research centers in Immokalee, Belle Glade, Wimauma and Citra, according to the release, and non-members and sponsors will be invited for networking opportunities.
