As stay-at-home orders melded into work-from-home orders, snacking became a coping mechanism for many this past year, bringing with it the inevitable weight gain. But as things start crawling back to normal, shoppers will be looking for inspiration and healthy, low-calorie options to take to work.

While Frieda’s Specialty Produce is known for many things, within the office our competitive weight loss challenge has become somewhat of an institution. Here’s how some of our biggest winners found success.

“The challenge really motivated me to lose weight,” says Matt Hubbard account manager at Frieda’s. “We had weekly weigh-ins, worked out, and even started meal-prepping together. It was a great way to stay accountable and to bond as a team. I love snacking on watermelon radish anything, and this watermelon radish avocado toast is my go-to for a healthy lunch.”

“I love starting my day with a morning hike and then enjoying a refreshing Tikis™ drinking coconut for breakfast, as it contains electrolytes and is a good source of fiber!” says Sonal Sanghvi, national account manager. “I also like munching on Stokes purple sweet potato power bites; they’re vegan, paleo, don’t require a whole lot of effort, and they’re absolutely delicious!”

“I start my day early, so when I hit the 2 p.m. slump I need some crunchy, flavorful deliciousness to keep me going,” says Margie Ramirez, purchasing manager. “Jicama sticks, shaved watermelon radish, dragon fruit, and cucumbers generously sprinkled with tajin are a lip-smacking hit of sweet, spicy, and sour! And for times when I need something a little more substantial, I turn to this spiced Stokes purple® sweet potato hummus, which pairs well with pita chips or celery.”

“When it comes to healthy eating, starting my day off with a filling breakfast is a must,” says Megan Klemz, account manager. “My vote is with this coconut yogurt chia pudding; it’s got that perfect balance of creamy and sweet, and is a good source of calcium and fiber.
