Tillis is scheduled to speak at the Sept. 13 luncheon at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill, according to a news release.

He is a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, according to the release, as well as the subcommittee on nutrition and specialty crops.

The release said Tillis committed to help fruit and vegetable producers secure a skilled legal workforce, and he serves on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. That committee has jurisdiction over legislation dealing with immigration law, according to the release.

Tillis has been part of a bipartisan effort to reform the H-2A program, according to the release.

Since 2012, there has been a 50% increase in H-2A program enrollment, with expectations of up to 20% gains every year for the near term.
