Nichino America and Sipcam Agro have signed a new cross-licensing agreement, the second for both companies, according to a news release.
Under terms of the partnership, Nichino granted Sipcam Agro early access entry to its fenpyroximate 5SC and 5EC miticide/insecticide formulations, which provide control of mites and other pests on many specialty crops including nuts, stone fruit, pome fruit, grapes, berries and citrus, according to the release.
The companies said the deal provides Sipcam with a more diverse portfolio.
“We are thrilled to join forces with Nichino in this cross-licensing endeavor,” Brent Marek, CEO chief operating officer at Sipcam Agro, said in the release. “This agreement not only solidifies our commitment to advancing agricultural productivity but also underscores the profound impact of strategic partnerships in driving the growth of the industry.”
In return, Sipcam Agro expanded its distribution rights to Nichino for cymoxanil and propamocarb fungicide to include the state of Arizona, according to the release. The companies said this alliance allows Nichino to market and sell Eject, a downy mildew fungicide for use on a variety of vegetable crops in Arizona.
“This partnership with Sipcam Agro will increase the potential for Eject Fungicide and broaden the distribution of fenpyroximate products in the United States, facilitating the optimization of market share for this important active ingredient,” Dustin Simmons, president of Nichino America, said in the release.
