Antoni Porowski, food and wine connoisseur on the Emmy-winning Netflix series Queer Eye, will turn his attention to produce at The Packer’s Global Organic Produce Expo.

Porowski will deliver a keynote address at the show, which is set for Jan. 9-11 at the Fontainebleau Luxury Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla.
Beyond the Netflix series, Porowski brings a lifelong passion for food and a history of catering private events in and around New York, according to GOPEX organizers.

“GOPEX is excited to showcase Antoni’s views and perspectives around fresh organic produce because he brings to light a generational shift in how we relate to food,” said Jessie Gunn, vice president of marketing and events for produce at The Packer and Farm Journal. “Antoni believes all food has a story and the story to organic food is so powerful.”

Porowski was bitten by the culinary bug at a young age, spending countless hours in the kitchen watching his mother cook, according to a news release. Porowski went to work in restaurants from Montreal to New York City. While in New York, Porowski found his later-to-be mentor, Ted Allen, the food and wine expert for the original Fab Five on the Netflix series Queer Eye, according to the release. His work with Allen, combined with his university degree in psychology, uniquely influenced his underlying philosophy: food should tell a story, and the heart and the stomach are interconnected.

Since joining Netflix’s Fab Five, Porowski has appeared on the covers of Gay Times, Out Magazine and Entertainment Weekly, where he and the rest of the Fab Five were listed among 2018’s Entertainers of the Year. He also was a finalist for People’s Choice Reality TV Star of 2018, winner of Eater’s 2018 Brand of the Year, and many others.

Porowski has brought his philosophy to The Village Den, the Manhattan eatery where he is part owner, and across the country at speaking engagements at universities and other venues. His cookbook, “Antoni in the Kitchen,” was released in September 2019.
