The leader of a market research firm focused on young consumers’ eating habits will speak at the United Fresh Produce Association 2020 FreshStart Conference.

Sharon Olson, co-founder and executive director of Y-Pulse, will speak Jan. 15 at the Jan. 14-16 event in Tucson, Ariz., according to a news release. Olson will provide insights into the minds of kids and the potential strategies of the foodservice professionals to boost fresh produce consumption in young consumers.

Among other honors, Olson received a Child Nutrition Showcase award from the School Nutrition Association for original research on Vending Trends in School Foodservice, according to the release.

“Today’s digitally-connected generation has a lot of information at their fingertips, making them savvy consumers and household influencers, especially when it comes to their food choices,” Tom Stenzel, president and CEO of United Fresh, said in the release. “With more kids and families dining away from home, Sharon’s insights will help attendees draw connections to translate trends into meaningful business opportunities.”

After Olson speaks, attendees will hear from a panel of foodservice operators on how they make it easier for parents and children to choose fresh produce when dining out.
