Saint-Rémi, Québec-based fresh-cut company Saladexpress Inc. has partnered with investor Agrial, a major French agriculture and agri-food cooperative.

“This partnership, the first of its size for Agrial in Québec, will be mutually beneficial,” Sylvain Racette, CEO of Saladexpress, said in a release. “We’re currently laying the groundwork for growth. This requires an investment to boost factory productivity and maintain and even increase our workforce.”

Agrial markets the brands Florette (fresh-cut), Priméale (fresh fruits and vegetables), and Créaline (fresh purées and soups).

“Combining Agrial’s expertise and Saladexpress’s market knowledge allows Agrial to establish a foothold in a growing market while providing Saladexpress with a partner that has well-known brands popular with consumers,” Bertrand Totel, director of Agrial’s Fresh Vegetables and Fruits Division, said in the release.

With the partnership, a modernization project for the Saint-Rémi factory is planned.
