HOUSTON — New product launches, products in development and more were among the highlights of The Packer’s booth tours at Viva Fresh Expo 2024.

Spencer Lightfoot from Nature Fresh Farms spoke about a new product in development, seedless mini sweet peppers.

“We think by the fall we’re going to have production to go to market and we’re really excited about the seedless mini sweet pepper category,” he said. “We know that there’s a lot of demand from retail, so stay tuned on this development.”

Darryl Bollack and Brad Ryan of Mariani Nut Co. showcased the company’s new organic walnut and almond products as well as marcona almonds. Bollack said marcona almonds are great for charcuterie boards.

Jason Stros, Nasser Halim and Adrian Espinoza were at the Harvest Best booth. Halim said the company highlighted private-label Fu Choy Red and Fujian broccoli, as well as its other hothouse vegetables.

“It’s been a great turnout [at Viva Fresh],” Halim said. “We get to meet some of the retailers and our existing customers here.”
