Reidsville, Ga.-based Shuman Farms says it will bring a one-of-its-kind tailgate experience to the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce and Floral Show at its booth, No. BC523, part of the Georgia Grown Pavilion.
“This year’s IFPA Global Produce and Floral Show is particularly exciting for us,” John Shuman, president and CEO of Shuman Farms, said in a news release. “We’re bringing our love for produce and football to the heart of Atlanta with a tailgate celebration that ties into our brand as the Official Sweet Onion of Tailgating. Our booth will give attendees an awesome game-day experience — perfect for connecting with our retail partners and showcasing our commitment to quality, flavor and fun.
The company said its booth will include interactive displays, recipes and live demonstrations that highlight the versatility of sweet onions on tailgate spreads. It will offer insights into strategic merchandising around tailgating, designed to increase fresh produce sales through in-store displays and promotions, the release said.
“We’ve found that tailgating is more than just a game-day ritual — it’s a chance for families and friends to gather and create memorable meals with fresh ingredients, like our sweet onions,” said Shuman. “By creating strategic cross-promotions and unique displays, we’re helping our retail partners boost sales while giving consumers more reasons to fill their baskets with fresh produce.”
Shuman Farms said it will also promote its partnership with the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University, as well as highlight its Peruvian sweet onions.
“This year, we continued Vidalia distribution through the end of September and seamlessly transitioned into our Peruvian sweet onions,” Shuman said. “Our sweet onions, imported via the Port of Savannah, play a vital role in Georgia’s economy and allow us to deliver high-quality products to consumers year-round.
