Texas companies face PACA sanctions

The U.S. Department has sanctioned two Texas companies for violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

The U.S. Department has sanctioned two Texas companies for violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

The companies, according to a news release, are:

Candymar Produce, McAllen, Texas, for not paying $1,920 to a Florida seller. As of the date of the PACA reparation order, Candido Nieto and Maricela Diaz were the officers, directors and/or major stockholders; and
Itamp Inc., Dallas, for failing to pay $11,640 to a Texas seller. As of the date of the PACA order, Luis Armando Lopez was the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.

The businesses’ PACA licenses have been suspended and the principal operators cannot be employed by or affiliated with PACA businesses unless approved by the USDA.
