The U.S. Department of Agriculture has sanctioned business in three states for violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
The businesses have lost their PACA licenses and cannot operate in the industry, along with principal operators, without USDA approval, according to a news release.
The businesses are:
- Orion Pacific International Inc., Walnut Creek, Calif., for failing to pay $85,112 to a California seller. Rick Rider was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business;
- El Chinelo Produce Inc., Minneapolis, for not paying $12,232 to a Texas seller. Virginia Sanchez Gomez and Stephany Duran Sanchez were listed as the officers, directors and/or major stockholders of the business; and
- C-Max Produce LLC, McAllen, Texas, for failing to pay $6,518 to a Texas seller. Jose A. Malpica was listed as a member of the business.
