The USDA has purchased fresh produce for distribution to The Emergency Food Assistance Program and other related domestic food assistance programs for fiscal year 2025.
The USDA purchase is the result of offers received in response to a solicitation from Oct. 21. The fresh produce is purchased on an fob destination basis, with deliveries to be made from Jan. 1 through March 31 next year.
The USDA reported the total fresh produce purchase at $487,266.
Vendors identified in the purchase announcement include:
- Capital City Fruit Co., Norwalk, Iowa.
- Caribbean Produce Exchange LLC, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Frank M. Gargiulo & Son, Inc., Hillside, N.J.
- Gold Coast Produce, Gurnee, Ill.
- Military Produce Group LLC, Virginia Beach, Va.
- Proffer Wholesale Produce Inc., Park Hills, Mo.
- RJB Produce Inc., Visalia, Calif.
- Sunterra Produce Traders Inc., Newport Beach, Calif.
