The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service’s National Organic Program wants to to revise and extend its previously approved information collection beyond March 31. A notice published to the Federal Register seeks to extend this collection for three years.
NOP says the notice proposes updates to previously approved information collection forms. It also requests changes to eliminate the collection of redundant information and to account for paperwork burden estimates related to the USDA Transition to Organic Partnership Program and public use of the NOP Online Complaint Portal.
NOP said it is seeking public comment on the proposed revisions, including comments on the burdens, costs and other effects of the information collection required by the USDA organic regulations.
Those interested in providing comments can submit them at Regulations.gov. The comment period closes on Jan. 22.
