The value of U.S. organic imports has increased to $5.7 billion in 2024, according to a the USDA’s 2025 Organic Situation Report.

This increase is due to a rise in high-value products including fresh berries, said the USDA. The agency has also added new tracking codes for organic products, which has helped to bolster the total value of tracked organic imports.

The new tracking codes added for organic products added in 2013, 2022, 2023 and 2024 under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and organic products previously recorded under a more general import category, the USDA said.

One example is organic cucumber codes, which the USDA introduced between 2022 and 2024. Prior to that, organic cucumber imports were recorded under total cucumber imports, the USDA said.
