Who is purchasing organic blueberries?

IRI retail scan data reveals organic blueberry retail sales of $396.6 million in 2021, up 12.4% from 2020.

Consumers are buying more and more organic blueberries.

IRI retail scan data reveals organic blueberry retail sales of $396.6 million in 2021, up 12.4% from 2020.

Organic blueberries accounted for 16.8% of total retail fresh blueberry sales and nearly 15% of total organic produce sales.

The Packer’s Organic Fresh Trends 2023 indicates that 14% of shoppers exclusively purchased organic blueberries, which is the same percentage reported by the 2022 and 2021 surveys. Meanwhile, Organic Fresh Trends 2023 research found that 36% of consumers purchased organic blueberries at least periodically. That number is unchanged from 2022.

The most frequent purchasers of organic blueberries are younger consumers and shoppers with kids, according to Organic Fresh Trends 2023.
