Tomra Food and Van Doren Sales have renewed their partnership and commitment to serving customers driven by shared values and goals.

In 1999, the two companies established a commercial partnership with the aim of providing integrated solutions to fresh apple and cherry customers in the Northwest region of North America, according to a news release. Van Doren Sales became Tomra Food’s exclusive sales and service distributor in this area, and together, the two partners have been serving a large section of the fresh apple and cherry customer base in the area, the release said.

Recently, the two partners have agreed to align further their processes, services, products and solutions, the release said.

Under the renewed agreement, Van Doren Sales remains the primary provider for sales and service opportunities related to fresh market fruit packhouses in the Pacific Northwest, with the exception of blueberries, which will be managed by Tomra Food’s dedicated blueberry sales and service team, according to the release.

To further facilitate doing business, Van Doren Sales will become the main point of contact for all sales opportunities related to the fresh apple market within North America outside the Pacific Northwest, while Tomra Food will continue to provide service support to customers in this area, the release said.

Van Doren Sales has continued to grow through a combined facility with Tomra in Grand Rapids, Mich., according to the release, and another facility in Kelowna, British Columbia, was established to deliver rapid service and support to this growing region.

“We are absolutely thrilled about the refreshed agreement with Van Doren Sales,” Jacinto Trigo, regional sales director of the Americas at Tomra Fresh Food, part of Tomra Food and primary liaison with Van Doren Sales, said in the release. “This partnership holds incredible potential to drive our growth at an accelerated pace. With their deep industry knowledge and innovative solutions, we have the perfect recipe for success. The renewed collaboration with Van Doren Sales reinforces our confidence in the tremendous opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we will leverage our combined strengths, capitalize on market trends, and deliver exceptional value to our customers. This exciting new chapter marks a significant milestone in our journey, and we can’t wait to see the remarkable growth and achievements that await us.”

“We first started doing business with Compac Sorting Equipment in 1999,” Bret Pittsinger, owner of Van Doren Sales Inc., said in the release. “Their innovation and teamwork helped Van Doren Sales maintain a strong market position in the Pacific Northwest. Now, with the added resources of the entire Tomra team, we will be able to continue growing with technology while maintaining the best quality and service possible for our customers. AI will be an essential part of our future.”
