Axia Vegetable Seeds, a Holland-based company that specializes in developing tomato seeds for protected crops, has hired Rafael Lacaz Ruiz as a protected culture sales representative.

Ruiz will cover the U.S. and Canada in this role, according to a news release.

Axia said Lacaz Ruiz has more than 20 years of experience in several functions in the vegetable industry, including work in the greenhouse vegetable seed industry for the past 13 years.

Operating out of the East Coast, the company said Lacaz Ruiz will work closely with sales team members John Davis and Cees Kortekaas to expand its customer base and continue to develop new products suited to the North American greenhouse market.
