Dennis Christou leaves Fresh Del Monte

Dennis Christou is leaving Coral Gables, Fla.-based Del Monte Fresh Produce Inc. after more than 15 years.

Dennis Christou is leaving Coral Gables, Fla.-based Del Monte Fresh Produce Inc. after more than 15 years.

Christou, whose last day is April 17, was vice president of marketing.

“During the past 15 years with Fresh Del Monte I have had many professional and personal experiences that I will always cherish,” Christou said in an April 17 e-mail. “I not only had the opportunity to work for an exciting company with a legendary global brand, but I also had the privilege to work with some of the best professionals in the industry.”

Christou was recognized in 2012 in The Packer 25 group of industry leaders.

Before joining Del Monte in 2004, Christou worked for 18 years at Charlotte, N.C.-based Chiquita Brands International when it was based in Cincinnati, the last five as vice president of marketing for Europe.

“It is the people that make this industry so unique and fun work,” Christou said. “It is also the one thing I will miss the most.”
