Howard Nager joins Progressive Produce as vice president

Los Angeles-based Progressive Produce has hired Howard Nager as vice president of business development and marketing.

Los Angeles-based Progressive Produce has hired Howard Nager as vice president of business development and marketing.

“We are excited to have someone of Howard Nager’s caliber and experience joining the company,” Marty Kamer, president of Progressive Produce, said in a news release. “He is an excellent collaborator and has remained customer-focused throughout his career in fresh produce. His leadership will play a significant role in executing our strategy and achieving our vision.”

Nager brings more than 36 years of produce industry experience to the position, most recently with Pasadena, Calif.-based Sun Pacific, as vice president of business development from November 2016 to June this year.

He was vice president of marketing for Yakima, Wash.-based Domex Superfresh Growers from February 2008 to June 2016, and before that was vice president of sales and marketing for Maui Pineapple Company from 2003 to 2007. Other marketing positions were at Sunsweet Growers, Pacific Fruit, Del Monte Fresh Produce and Dole Fresh Fruit Co.

“I am extremely excited to join the team at Progressive Produce and feel that it is a great fit with my qualifications and personality,” Nager said in the release. “Progressive is well known for their innovative quality products, top-tier customer service and a dedicated workforce focused on pursuing excellence.”
