Index Fresh, a global marketer of avocados, has named Kellen Stailey Martin as its vice president of marketing.

Stailey Martin brings more than 18 years of multidisciplinary sales and marketing expertise in the produce industry, according to a news release. Index Fresh said her experience in managing cross-functional teams, spearheading creative campaigns and delivering exceptional results will help lead and drive the company’s expanding global footprint.

Stailey Martin will lead the company’s marketing strategy and implementation, as well as oversee the marketing team. She will report directly to CEO Steve Roodzant and will direct all media, digital, insights, public relations, content creation, grower engagement and brand management.

“We are thrilled to have a cross-functional leader with Kellen’s passion and drive joining the Index Fresh team,” Roodzant said in the release. “Kellen has a strong background in executive leadership, an agile skill set and a sophisticated understanding of the industry that will be an asset to our company.”

Stailey Martin recently served as vice president of marketing for Hazel Technologies, where she led global marketing and product teams, the release said. She also held leadership roles at Grimmway Farms/Cal-Organic and at Sunshine Bouquet.

In 2022, The Packer named Stailey Martin to its Packer 25 list.

She was also awarded PMA’s Tip Murphy Scholarship for Leadership Excellence and accepted into the Emerging Leaders Program at Thunderbird School of Global Business. Stailey Martin currently serves on the International Fresh Produce Association’s Sustainability Committee.

“I was immediately drawn to Index Fresh’s reputation as a pioneer in avocado marketing,” she said in the release. “Index’s deep agricultural commitment, exceptional service and consistent global supply create a collaborative culture positioned for growth. I look forward to developing Index Fresh’s brands, providing insights and accountability to their customers and ensuring Index Fresh is top of mind as operators select key partners to supply this critical category.”
