DNO Produce says Mark Church, the newest addition to its maintenance team, was chosen by his colleagues to be the first Brocc Star Award winner of the year.

The award recognizes Church for his attention to detail, people-first approach, strong ownership of responsibilities and the valuable experience he brings to Freshealth and DNO Produce. As DNO Produce’s parts buyer, he plays a critical role in keeping the company’s food-safe equipment, refrigeration systems and temperature controls running smoothly, supporting product quality and the strong foundation of the business, according to the company.

DNO Produce cites an employee as saying: “The maintenance department would struggle without Mark being here to make sure we have the parts for everything. He’s been in the field for a while and has a lot of suggestions to help out the department to make us more efficient.”

Church’s co-workers say he has been helpful and kind, always taking the time to answer questions and support teammates, offer thoughtful input and share ideas whenever he sees an opportunity to improve a process; his calm, steady demeanor makes him easy to work with, and he treats everyone with respect and patience.

Because of this, he has built strong relationships across the team and is someone people genuinely enjoy working with and trust to support them when they need it, according to the company.

DNO Produce cites another employee as saying: “Mark takes full ownership of his role and follows through with even the smallest requests made in passing. He is always willing to give a hand when needed.”
