NatureSweet adds Suzanne Wade to board

Greenhouse grower NatureSweet has added Suzanne Wade, who has worked in executive roles at Walmart and H-E-B, to its board of directors.

Greenhouse grower NatureSweet has added Suzanne Wade, who has worked in executive roles at Walmart and H-E-B, to its board of directors.

Her career spans more than 40 years, 11 of them at Walmart as senior vice president of human resources, and senior vice president of membership, marketing and administration for Sam’s Club, according to a news release.

She joined H-E-B in 1997 as group vice president of sales and advertising, later adding H-E-B Own Brand to her responsibilities. She has also been senior vice president of human resources at the company and was president of its food/drug stores.

Wade has been received the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Tribute to Women Leadership Award, the North San Antonio Chamber Athena Award, San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame and the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Trefoil Honoree, according to the release.

“Suzanne’s experience is the perfect combination of strategy and hands-on approach to support NatureSweet’s unique position in the market,” Bryant Ambelang, executive chairman, said in the release. “With its unique story of Unleashing the Power of People at the forefront of everything they do, she will no doubt help to support its transformation of the agricultural industry.”

  • Dale Tremblay, president and CEO of C.H. Guenther & Son;
  • Kevin Murphy, former president and CEO, Driscoll’s;
  • Dan Burdett, former head of digital agriculture for Syngenta;
  • Jordana Markman-Epstein, chief investment officer at Silver Ventures;
  • Frederic Steunou, chief financial officer of NatureSweet; and
  • Rodolfo Spielmann, president and CEO of NatureSweet
