Pete Pappas & Sons hires GM, promotes VP of sales

Pete Pappas & Sons, Jessup, Md., has hired John Garin as general manager and promoted Don Martin to vice president of sales.

Pete Pappas & Sons, Jessup, Md., has hired John Garin as general manager and promoted Don Martin to vice president of sales.

Garin has two decades of experience in tomato repacking, farm management and analysis, according to a news release.

He started as a perishable liaison at Supervalu Inc., was general manager of a DiMare Fresh facility in Sacrament, Calif., director of purchasing and transportation at American Produce, general manager at Live Oak Farms in Le Grand, Calif., and president of Trillon Ranch, Bennett, Colo.

Martin joined Pete Pappas & Sons two years ago, previously serving as general manager. Martin has helped expand the customer base, delivery area and selection of items under the company’s private-label Patricia and Pete’s Garden Organics brands, according to the release.

Before joining the company, Martin was northeast sales manager for Lipman New Jersey and general manager at Custom Pak/Lipman, Westover, Md.
