Pete Pappas & Sons hires veteran Mark Pitts as GM

Jessup, Md.-based Pete Pappas & Sons Inc. has hired Mark Pitts as the company’s general manager.

Jessup, Md.-based Pete Pappas & Sons Inc. has hired Mark Pitts as the company’s general manager.

Pitts will oversee daily operations at the company, according to a news release. Most recently, Pitts was vice president of operations at C&S Wholesale Grocers, Aberdeen, Md., and his LinkedIn profile indicates he had been at C&S for more than 15 years in various positions.

Pete Pappas celebrates its 80th year in business in 2022 and is a wholesale produce supplier, grower, shipper and distributor, with farming operations in Tennessee, according to the release.

“As the newest member of the Pete Pappas team, I will bring collaborative leadership and experience in end-to-end supply chain to support the amazing growth potential of the organization,” Pitts said in the release. “Two of my goals are to focus on innovation and culture to withstand the headwinds that our industry faces today and thrive in our bright future.”

Paul Pappas, president of the company, praised the experience and skill set of Pitts.

“Our organization will flourish under Mark’s expertise, which creates a synergy with our leadership team and brings another face of leadership to our growing employee base,” Pappas said in the release.
