Stemilt Growers and Hansen Fruit again teamed up to give 170 children in foster care and low-income households gifts for the seventh Christmas in a row.
Stemilt, Wenatchee, Wash., gave gifts to children in the Washington State Department of Youth and Family Services, Foster First, or Fostering Solutions, and Hansen Fruit, Yakima, Wash., gave gifts to children at Barge Lincoln Elementary and Foster First, according to a news release.
“Each year, I am so proud of our team and the support and generosity they show for our community,” West Mathison, president of Stemilt Growers, said in the release. “Even though we have been doing this for seven years now, I am still moved by our team’s efforts and the compassion they show to see that 170 children wake up to gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.”
The company’s Community Investment Committee supports 15 organizations in the Wenatchee area throughout the year, focusing on education, wellness and community, according to the release.
