Farmer’s Best LLC will increase its Mexican acreage of seedless cucumbers, elongated red peppers, and eggplant programs, says Sasha Lewton.

Lewton, sales manager with Farmer’s Best LLC, Rio Rico, Ariz., said the acreage increases for those items replace some of the acreage on vine ripe tomatoes that we decided to cut.

“Last year we started offering bagged green beans as programs to our retail partners which has turned into a great success for us,” Lewton said. “We are currently working on rolling out more value-added products in the coming months on some of our roma and vegetable products.”

More information on those items will be released as those details are finalized, she said.

Currently, Farmer’s Best has organic offerings in green beans, cucumbers and squash, Lewton said.

Lewton said Farmer’s Best is optimistic going into the new Mexican season.

“We saw solid growth in our packages sold in the 2022-23 season,” she said. “As we enter the 2023-24 season with a more seasoned sales team and new associate growers that have joined our group, we are very excited about what the future holds for us.”
