The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association is helping growers find consumers to buy their produce during the COVID-19 crisis.

“With the current supply-chain disruption, many producers are now selling directly to the public to move their product, and consumers are eager to find out where fresh, local produce is available for purchase,” according to a member notice from the association.

If companies want to participate in FFVA’s help to move inventory, the association is asking members to e-mail their company name, consumer pick-up location, phone number, Facebook/Twitter addresses, what products they want to sell and the hours they’ll be selling. Send the information to information@ffva.com.

As of the morning of April 9, the site listed 30 companies. FFVA is asking consumers to check farms’ Facebook pages for updated information and availability. While some have online ordering, this is not a delivery service.
