Vestaron Corp., a manufacturer of biocontrols for the specialty crop industry, and Simplot Grower Solutions, a North American agricultural retailer, have partnered to expand Vestaron’s distribution through Simplot’s infrastructure of more than 40,000 customers in the U.S. and Canada.

The companies also said this move will expand Simplot Grower Solutions’ product portfolio.

Vestaron offers peptide-based biological insecticides including Spear LEP for nuts, fruits, vegetables and other high-value specialty crops. Spear LEP targets lepidopteran pests such as codling moth, navel orangeworm, oblique-banded leafroller, oriental fruit moth, peach twig borer, melonworm, tobacco hornworm and more, according to a news release.

Vestaron said in the release that Spear LEP has a four-hour reentry interval and zero-day pre-harvest interval.

“Simplot is proud to partner with Vestaron in our aligned commitment to deliver the leading biological crop protection solutions our farmer customers require,” Dean Williams, head of product management for Simplot Grower Solutions, said in the release. “This collaboration reinforces our dedication to supporting farmers with the tools they need to continue their legacy for years to come.”
