TerraFresh Organics is expecting a great season out of Mexico this year, says Jason Laffer, vice president of sales for the Mill Valley, Calif.-based firm.

The company has a robust organic mango program that runs from mid-January through September, he said. It also has an organic valencia and grapefruit program that supplies the market demand from November through June.

The company also is excited to offer the option for organic fair trade mangoes and citrus, Laffer said.

“We are on track to have some growth on our mango program as well as our valencia and grapefruit program,” he said. “Peru and Ecuador mangoes have been very short this season, so it’s set the stage for a strong start this year out of Mexico.”

Laffer said TerraFresh Organics is focused on quality, consistency, service and sizing.

“If we are able to execute on these four things, we should see elevated growth in our program this season,” he said. “We are focused on organics, and we continue to see great growth in the organic category, and we believe this will continue.”

Laffer said the company is eager to continue expanding its sales with growers and diversify the items the firm is offering.

“Grapes this season are just around the corner, and with the shortages from other growing regions, it should set the stage for a strong start out of Mexico,” he said.
