The USDA has made $37 million-worth of fresh and frozen stone fruit purchases.

The 56-page purchase award decision said the commodity buys were made with funds designated to purchase surplus U.S. commodities, with the stone fruit products intended for distribution to child nutrition program and other related domestic food assistance programs in fiscal year 2022, according to a news release.

The USDA said the purchases were the result of offers received in response to a solicitation issued on June 16. The commodities were purchased on an fob destination basis, with deliveries to be made from Aug. 16 to Dec. 15.

More details about the purchase are available at this link.
