USDA seeks 50,000 cartons of fresh apples and pears

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is inviting bids from domestic marketers of fresh apples and pears to supply federal nutrition programs.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is inviting bids from domestic marketers of fresh apples and pears to supply federal nutrition programs.

The bids are due by Feb. 19 and the USDA said acceptances will be announced by March 4. According to the USDA, deliveries of fresh apples and pears to federal nutrition programs will start April 5 and June 30.

The USDA said the contract specialist handling this purchase will be Nick Wiber at nick.wiber@usda.gov.

According to the bid invitation, the agency is looking for bids for a total of 52,304 cartons of fresh apples and pears. More details are available in the bid, found on the USDA website.
