The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has drafted a pest risk analysis that evaluates the risks associated with the importation of fresh thyme and oregano from Kenya into the U.S.

The department said it has determined that the application of one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing or disseminating plant pests or noxious weeds into the U.S.

The USDA is making the pest risk analysis available to the public for review and comment for a 60-day period ending March 18, 2024. To view the documents or submit comments, go to regulations.gov and enter APHIS-2023-010-1 in the search field.
