ASL Produce has launched its new social responsibility program called Hope Green Beans.

To mark the occasion, the company on April 25 donated to the Dr. Sonrisas Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting children facing life-threatening illnesses, according to a news release.

The goal of Hope Green Beans is to brighten the world with hope by providing comprehensive support to children confronting serious health challenges, the release said. ASL Produce says it contributed a donation equivalent to a percentage of the sales of their Green Valley brand green beans under the Hope Green Beans label.

“This year has been pivotal for us,” Francisco Sánchez, CEO of ASL Produce, said in the release. “We stumbled upon the work of Dr. Sonrisas serendipitously, and I was deeply moved when visiting Imagina Park, one of the foundation’s initiatives. Seeing how the foundation boosts the morale and health of so many children and families convinced me that we’re on the right track. I hope this is just the beginning of a project that will benefit many families.”

The Dr. Sonrisas Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a presence in Mexico and Central and South America. Over its 22-year history, the foundation has transformed the lives of children through the efforts of over 20,000 volunteers, the release said.

Andrés Martínez, president of the Dr. Sonrisas Foundation, said the nonprofit was grateful for the collaboration with ASL Produce.

“Over the years, we’ve seen how we can change not only the lives of children but also those of their families,” Martínez said in the release. “Fulfilling their dreams uplifts our spirits and drives us forward.”

The donated resources will be allocated to various activities and programs championed by the foundation, the release said. The mission of the foundation is “exchanging the pain and suffering of boys and girls for moments of hope, fun, and joy.”
