Del Monte Foods recognized for its diversity and equality efforts

The Walnut Creek, Calif.-based company said it earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s assessment of LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Del Monte Foods says it has earned a perfect score for a second consecutive year on anational benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

The company scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index, joining the ranks of 545 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year, according to a news release.

“At Del Monte Foods, we’re committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels that they truly belong and are valued for their contributions,” Greg Longstreet, president and CEO of Del Monte Foods, said in the release. “We’re honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation as a recipient of the Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion and celebrate this important achievement as we continue our work to advance inclusion as Growers of Good.”

The corporate equality index rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: nondiscrimination policies across business entities; equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.
