Village Farms Fresh, a subsidiary of Village Farms International, has been recognized as the “Re-Imagine Award for Outstanding Employer” by Options Community Services, a nonprofit that provides social services in the Delta, British Columbia, area.

“We aim to do our part to create inclusive spaces, that are welcoming, dignified and accessible, and thank Options Community Services for the important work they do to help build stronger, more resilient communities that inspire hope,” Michael DeGiglio, president and CEO of Village Farms International, said in a news release.

The award recognizes businesses committed to cultivating inclusive workplaces in the province, according to the release. Village Farms Fresh said Options Community Services recognized it and its sister company, Pure Sunfarms, for celebrating diversity and team culture.

“Options Community Services is a valued partner and important contributor of resources to those who need it the most in our community,” DeGiglio said. “We are proud to collaborate with them and honored to have our efforts to advance diversity in our workplace recognized with this award.”
