Curious about California water regulations and how they will affect produce crop sustainability?
Farm Journal’s Trust in Food is hosting a web seminar on California’s agricultural water landscape, including the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, at noon Pacific time on Dec. 17. Registration is online.
The Packer’s Tom Karst, editor, and Ashley Nickle, retail editor/PMG Magazine editor, will participate with experts that include:
- Cordie Qualle, interim director of the California Water Institute;
- Angela Vanoni, Ventura County produce grower;
- Carlos Suarez, NRCS State Conservationist; and
- Chip Flory, AgriTalk radio.
The seminar is in collaboration with the Ventura County Resource Conservation District, the Natural Resources Conservation Services, and the Foundational Partners of America’s Conservation Ag Movement.
The webinar will address California’s changing water regulatory landscape – including the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act – and how it will affect the U.S. produce sector.
America’s Conservation Ag Movement brings farmers and the sustainability community together around the future of farming by bringing profitable, planet-friendly farming practices into the mainstream.
The movement is organized by Trust In Food, a Farm Journal initiative, in partnership with the Farm Journal Foundation. Financial and technical support is provided by USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service and leading agribusinesses, food companies and nonprofit organizations.
