Lineage Logistics acquires refrigerated railcar company

Lineage Logistics LLC has acquired Cryo-Trans, which leases refrigerated and insulated railcars.

Cryo-Trans manages more than 40,000 rail shipment a year and owns more than 2,200 refrigerated and insulated rail cars, according to a news release. The company also offers rail management solutions, providing real-time information to track and expedite rail shipments in North America.

Greg Lehmkuhl, president and CEO of Lineage Logistics, said combining his company’s facility footprint, a railcar network and data-driven transportation systems will optimize freight, create efficiencies and increase supply chain visibility.

“Welcoming the dynamic team from Cryo-Trans further diversifies Lineage’s comprehensive suite of multi-modal services and creates a unique, under-one-roof solution for our customers in which warehousing and transportation are seamlessly integrated,” Lehmkuhl said in the release.

Lineage Logistics has more than 330 temperature-controlled warehouses globally, with a capacity of nearly 2 billion cubic feet in 15 countries, according to the release. The company offers less-than-truckload consolidation, on-demand transport, port logistics, customs brokerage and other services.
