Midwest regions report truck shortage

A shortage of trucks was reported in Midwest shipping regions in on July 24, but the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s truck rate report noted mostly stable rates for other regions.

A shortage of trucks was reported in Midwest shipping regions in on July 24, but the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s truck rate report noted mostly stable rates for other regions.

In the weekly report, the USDA reported a shortage of refrigerated trucks for melons from Southeast Missouri and melons from Southwest Indiana and Southeast Illinois. A slight shortage of trucks was reported for melons from Delaware, Maryland, and Eastern Shore Virginia.

Truck supplies were in slight surplus volume for onions from Vidalia District Georgia and onions from Southern New Mexico with a wider surplus of trucks for Mexico crossing through Texas and onions, cabbage, oranges and grapefruit from Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas,

All other regions reported adequate truck supply, according to the USDA.
