RLS Logistics, Newfield, N.J., is offering direct-to-consumer fulfillment services at its Terrel, Texas, facility, expanding its ability to serve e-commerce companies across the country.

The third-generation family-owned company reports that DC2 start-ups and established e-commerce companies can use the cold storage facility as base that can reach most of the U.S. within several days, reaching 27% of consumers within a day. The company is building a national network of cold storage facilities.

“Texas is a tremendous market,” Ken Johnson, chief operating officer of RLS Warehousing Group, said in the release. “There’s significant population growth in that area. This addition allows us to spine the country with three strategic fulfillment locations for our customers.”

Current and prospective customers want to work with a business that has a national footprint, according to the release.

“Companies are asking, ‘Can you support our growth, and can you get it to my customer in one to two days at the proper temperature?’” Janine Dunlap, business development coordinator for fulfillment and cold storage for RLS Logistics, said in the release. “That’s the model we’re trying to build: To grow with our D2C customers to get to their customers quicker, preferably within one day.”

As companies expand, there are benefits to working with a single company, according to the release.

“It’s easier to manage all your inventory through one technology platform,” Dunlap said in the release. “Plus, with RLS, all the analytics are in place, and you’re only dealing with one accountable team.”
